Page 20 The INDEPENDENT, May 15, 2003 Providence Health Fair fun More than 50 people took advantage of the health fair sponsored by Providence Family Medicine-Ver- nonia to have free blood pressure and cholesterol checks, and glucose screenings. Even more people enjoyed the activities, enter tainment, good food and fun at last Saturday’s event, while gathering information about a number of health care issues. Janie Wasmann, with staff members of the Vernonia clinic, was the happy winner of a deluxe gas barbecue donated by Hi School Pharmacy of Scappoose. L-R are Heidi Bidstrup, Mark Livingston, M.D., Judith Hargis, P.A.C., Marla Rethwill, Wasmann, Sue Blair and Dawn Ander- son, M.A. Culpepper & Merriweather Circus to appear in Scappoose The C ulpepper & Merri- weather Circus will present two shows May 23, at 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Cinnamon Tree Business Park on High way 30, one block north of the Scappoose Fire Station. Elephants, clowns, aerialists and the magic of the circus will be presented in one and one- half hours of fun. Prices for advance tickets are $5.00 for children and $7.00 for adults, and are avail- able at Columbia City Library, Key Title-Ticor St. Helens and Scappoose offices, All State In- surance-Scappoose, Columbia River PUD-Deer Island.
