Forestry and Longview Fibre Company will be on the agenda at the Oregon Board of Forestry’s regular meeting Fri day, April 25 at 8 a.m. Staff will also provide an up a b o v e th e re s t. 299 95 CPOBK The Northwest Oregon Re gional Forest Practices Com mittee, appointed by the Board of Forestry to review proposed forest practice rules, will meet on Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the Oregon Depart ment of Forestry District Office, 801 Gales Creek Road, Forest Grove, OR. The meeting is open to the public. ODF staff will review and seek regional comments on draft water protection rules. The draft rules are based on recommendations provided by two citizen advisory groups, the Forest Practice Advisory Com mittee and the Eastside Ripari an Functions Advisory Commit tee, as well as rule concepts that are anticipated to be ap proved by the Board of Forestry on April 25. Examples of these rule concepts include using the same stream prescriptions for large and medium-sized non fish bearing streams as cur rently required for fish bearing streams of equivalent size, and creating a viable incentive for landowners to place large wood in streams where it pro vides the greatest benefits to salmonids. The Northwest Oregon Re- gional Forest Practice Commit tee consists of nine members who assist and advise the Board of Forestry in developing forest practice rules that are appropriate for forest condi tions in Oregon.
