The show’s creator, comedi an-writer-director Dan Kamin, describes it as “a demonstra- tion of the natural connection between music and movement. The show also illustrates the power of music to summon up images, ‘to make pictures of animals in your head.’” Kamin, a master of mime and physical comedy, plays a zookeeper with an elephant-sized prob lem. Symphonic music becomes vivid, visual, and accessible in this simple yet exciting tale, set to the music of Handel, Stravin sky, Rossini and others. Kamin’s “Comedy Concer tos," which blend lowbrow com edy with highbrow music, are popular with sym phonies across the country, including Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Pittsburgh. In addition to “The Lost Elephant," they in clude “The Haunted Orches tra," “Carnival of the Animals,” “The Magic of Mime" and a pops program, “The Horrible History of Music."
