The INDEPENDENT, September 5, 2002 Page 5 Dick Rutan will headline this year’s Oregon Air Fair in Albany The Oregon Air Fair returns to the Linn County Fair & Expo Center adjacent to the Albany Airport, September 14-15, with a full line-up of aviation w ork shops, speakers, displays, ex hibitors and the popular Youth Area. This free event is a high light for aviation enthusiasts throughout the region, with easy access whether driving or flying. W orld-renow ned pilot Dck Rutan headlines this ye a r’s event. Recently inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame, Rutan will discuss the adventure and excitement of his around-the-world, non-stop flight in 1986, which still holds world records. Mike Ferguson, Northwest Regional Representative to the Aircraft Owners and Pilots As sociation, will discuss changes that have occurred in the gen eral aviation sector since Sep tember 11th and what is on the horizon. The Air Fair’s 7,000 square foot Youth Area will again fea ture hands-on experiences for Country Kitchen & Pizza BREAKFAST • LUNCH • DINNER Soup & Salad Bar • Pies & Pastries “SOFT SERVE” CONES & SHAKES kids of all ages. From a working model of aircraft landing gear to a military fighter cockpit, this unique area has something for everyone to experience the de light and wonder that aviation has to offer.
