Disposition was by cre mation and a son has taken her ashes to England for another service. Mrs. Schoonover was born Nov. 24, 1938, in Caistor, County Lincolnshire, England, to Frank Herbert and Evelyn (Watling) Denton. "A Trusted sfarne in Tunera!Service'' She married Lavern K. Schoonover in 1976, in England, and came to the United States in 1978 when her hus band was stationed at Mt. Home AFB, Idaho. In 1979, they moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, where she worked for several years at Deseret Industries. They moved to Vernonia in 1996. She was preceded in death by a son, Mickey. Funeral services were held July 5, at Fuiten, Rose and Hoyt Funeral Home in Forest Grove, with the Rev. C. Eugene Sabin officiating. Interment was in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland Mrs. Byers was bom April 11, 1899, in Spencer, Neb., to Thomas M and Elizabeth Mitchell Bennett. She grew up in Tangent and graduated from Tan gent High School. In 1917, she married Bliss B Byers. They lived in Monroe, Independence, Hoskins, Monmouth, Vernonia, Banks and Gales Creek She was a member of the First Christian Church in Forest Grove. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1962; a brother and seven sisters. Survivors include daughters Blissi- na E. Gulvin of Gales Creek and Bette Mead of Banks; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren. A graveside service and inurnment were held July 13, at Buxton Cemetery, with the Rev. C. Eugene Sabin, officiating. Mrs. Crowther was born March 27, 1926, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Phillip and Florence Mary Booth Cullinan. They moved to Seaside, Port Orford and Hillsboro. She graduated from Hillsboro High School. In 1947, she married Bill G. Crow ther. They lived in Manning and Hills boro. She was a quality control special ist for GAF/Viewmaster until 1996 Mrs. Crowther was a member of the Banks Lions Club. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996 Survivors include two daughters, Luanne E. of Hillsboro, Lynette E. Han sen of Portland; three sons, Michael L. of Banks, Patrick L and William C. “Corby" both of Hillsboro; two brothers, Phillip Cullinan, Jr. of Calif., and Charles Cullinan of Ariz.; eight grand children and four great-grandchildren. Forest Grove Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements HAROLD PITTMAN, SR. Harold L. Pittman, Sr., 68, Apache Junction, Arizona, died July 7, 2002. Memorial services were held July 16 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Forest Grove Mr. Pittman was born March 23, 1934, in Blue Springs, Mo., to Clarence and Eva Pittman. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1953 and served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea In 1956, he married Sharon Windle They lived in San Diego, then Indepen dence, Mo. He worked as a machinist a, Armco Steel in Kansas City for 10 years. They moved to Banks, where he was a machinist, and head of mainte nance at Banks High School. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife two sons, Harold and Michael; a daughter, Linda Hill; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; a sister, Marybelle Carlton.
