Scheduling note: If your primary
care physician is not at the local clinic, but
you’d like to be seen here, the first step is to
contact your regular physician, explain the
situation, and ask if a referral is needed in
order to be seen at Providence-Vernonia.
This is imperative for some insurance car
riers — many of them won’t cover the call
unless it’s pre-approved. Questions? Talk to
Sue or Jessie at 503-429-9191.
Mammovan change: For this month only, the mammovan
will be in Vernonia on Tuesday (instead of the usual Wednesday).
The date is next Tuesday, March 26, and Sue reports that there
are a couple of openings left. Next mammovan date is Wednes
day, April 17. We’ve heard many positive comments about the
convenience of having that service here. You may call the local
clinic to schedule a mammogram.

healthy enough to
return to the wild, so Rand brought it back to Vernonia and
released it near where it had been found. After checking out the
situation for a few minutes, the owl flew into the underbrush, then
headed for the trees.
