Historical church and Nehalem Valley artifacts were on display and the church’s original pump organ was returned for the event. Built in 1892 by the Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethlehem Congregation, Mist Church is one of the oldest buildings in the area. The church restoration has taken more than four years of dedicated work by volunteers with the Mist-Birkenfeld Histori cal Society. It also benefited from an Eagle Scout project or ganized by Anthony Morrow of Vernonia. According to everyone in volved, the restored church is a “beautiful place for quiet con templation, celebration and worship.” For more information, call Sheila Sullivan at 503-728- 2196. M-BRFPD seeking board member M-BRFPD December meeting scheduled The next meeting of the Mist-Birkenfeld RFPD Board of at 7:30 p.m. at the main station 12525 Hwy 202. The Mist-Birkenfeld RFPD Board of Directors is accepting applications for a board posi tion previously held by Ray mond Kyser, who resigned, ef fective Nov. 13, citing medical concerns. The four-year term will end June 30, 2005. Interested fire district resi dents are invited to attend reg ular board meetings and meet with Board Chairman Bill De- Jager to answer any questions concerning board responsibili ties.
