(Oregon 47) The deadline to apply for the 2001-2003 cycle of the Oregon Heritage Grant program is fast approaching. Applications must be received at the Oregon Her itage Commission offices at 1115 Commercial Street NE, Salem, OR 97301 no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2001. Facsimile and e-mail ap plications will not be accepted. Oregon Heritage Grants can provide up to 50 percent of the cost of a wide variety of her itage projects. In the past, sup ported projects have included rehabilitation of historic struc tures, conservation and cata loging of archival and museum collections and interpretation of community history and historic sites. Previous awards have ranged in amount from $1,000 to $25,000. A description of past Oregon Heritage Grants is available on the commission's web site at www.oregonher- itage.org For the 2001-2003 grant cy cle, the Commission has de clared a focus on projects relat ed to the Lewis and Clark Bi centennial. Proposed projects do not have to be along the Ex pedition’s actual route, but should address the signifi cance of the Lewis and Clark exploration to Oregon. The commission will also consider applications for projects not re lated to the Bicentennial. A total of $270,000 is available for the 2001-2003 heritage grant cy cle. All projects must be com pleted by June 30, 2003. Eligible applicants for Ore gon Heritage Grants include non-profit organizations, agen cies of local government and federally recognized tribal gov ernments located in the State of Oregon. This 139th year of the fair will begin with a spe cial $1.00 admission price, a parade, a flag raising ceremo ny and a huge fireworks show. For the first time since 1967, the fair and West Coast Bank are offering $1.00 admission and one can of food, between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. All food donations will go to the Oregon Food Bank. Clackamas CC Honor Roll named More than 1,000 students were named to the Clackamas Community College honor for spring term 2001. To be named to the honor roll, students must take at least nine graded credits and earn a grade point average of 3.5 or better. Among the students on the CCC spring honor roll were Er ica L.
