Page 10 - 2001 Vernonia Friendship Jamboree Performers will present Christian music at Saturday performance An outdoor, Christian music concert featuring the pop/punk rock band Perfect Attendance, Soul Shot, a funk, disco, R&B and classic rock band, and Gene Hall, a jazz guitarist, will be held Saturday, August 4 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., on A Street between the Vernonia Community Church and the First Baptist Church. The Vernonia Community Church Praise Band will be leading the audience in chorus es and hymns. There is no admission charge. Jamboree worship service to feature Bible drama He Makes Me Laugh, a one- act play presented by Dramatic Difference Ministries, will be performed at the Friendship Jamboree worship service on Sunday, August 5, by Alan and Beth Niquette, of Indepen dence. He Makes Me Laugh pres ents the story of Abraham, as a spry 105 year-old nomad who delights in chasing after his toddler son, and Sarah, his 95 year-old wife. The story chal lenges people to trust God, no matter what they are facing. Alan Niquette, director of Dramatic Difference Ministries, acquired his doctor of ministry degree from Western Seminary in Portland, in 1987. He found ed Dramatic Difference Min istries, Inc. in 1991, to develop and produce a variety of inno vative programs, including training seminars, workshops and dramatic productions. Since 1992, the Niquettes have traveled the western Unit ed States performing, teaching seminars, providing pulpit sup ply for churches and conduct ing retreats.
