Lavay Smith and Her Red
Hot Skillet Lickers will perform
at the Columbia Theatre for the
Performing Arts in Longview,
June 22 at 7:30 p.m.
Smith, a sultry songstress
who recalls the talents of Ella
Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and
Dinah Washington, and her
“Skillet Lickers" are truly all-
star performers.
When not on the road, Smith
and her band are showcased
every Friday at the Cafe du
Nord, San Francisco’s hippest
nightclub.
Four horns, guitar, piano,
bass and drums make up the
Skillet Lickers, who have per
formed and recorded with
Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald,
Nat “King” Cole, Frank Sinatra,
Tito Puente, Lionel Hampton,
