Also for sale will be some gardening books donated by Timber Press, used books, and used videos. Increases in expenditures include $190,000 for 3.5 addi tional classroom teachers; $45,000 for language arts ma terials; $35,000 each for tech nology and for the creation of a deferred maintenance ac count; and lesser amounts in five other specific categories. The proposed budget also in cludes a two-percent increase in most other budgeted cate gories, a four-percent increase in contractual obligations (salaries and benefits) and a 10-percent increase in trans portation. Among the items up for bid in prior years’ auctions have been tickets for various events, including the Oregon Sympho ny and the Trail Blazers, nurs ery stock, local produce, fly fishing trips, restaurant certifi cates, office supplies, fuel, por traits, furniture and much, much more. This year’s event promises another exciting se lection for auction goers. Volunteers have worked for many weeks to acquire items for the day-long garage sale, too. It will start at 9:00 a.m. and continue until auction time. The silent auction will start at 5:00 p.m. and be followed by the oral auction at 7:00 p.m. You needn’t miss your dinner, either. A barbecued chicken dinner, with potato salad, baked beans, roll and pop, will be served from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. for $5.00 per person. Pro ceeds from the dinner will help support Grad Nite activities. All activities will be at Banks High School on Saturday, April 29th.
