The word must be out
around the county about our
terrific cook, because at our
five-area luncheon on Monday
the 27th, we were packed out
with 69 diners. All were served
a fine roast pork meal with all
the trimmin’s. There were
many favorable comments as
people left patting their round
ed tummies. Just think, we eat
that way all the time.
The sunny weather lifted
spirits and brought out shop
pers. We know it’s too soon to
expect that kind of weather on
a regular basis, but it sure is
welcome, even briefly.
The census people are
winding up their faithful service
and have helped several of us
with the questions. I under
stand that Oregon has made a
good showing at responding to
the census. Of course, we’re
Oregon all the way!

We offer our sympathy and
prayers concerning Bernice
Frey’s recent loss of her son,
Eric. Bernice is our secretary
and very special to us, and we
feel her loss. On this same
note, please make note that
Eric Olsen, Bernice’s son is the
one deceased; our former
chairman and my husband is
alive and well. We ARE howev
er, grateful for the concerns of
those who mistakenly thought I
was now a widow.
Marge Trahan has recently
been moved to Colorado to be
near her son. The altitude
change, however, caused
some breathing difficulties and
she was hospitalized. We have
not had a recent update.
The Golden Oldies have
been faithfully entertaining us
each Wednesday. They just get
better and better. Too bad you
can’t hear them...but wait! You
CAN if you just drop by be
tween lunch and about 2:30 on
that day. While you're there,
look around the craft center or
the Thrift Shop for some good
bargains. You can grab a pas
try and a cuppa while you
shop. We’ve been waiting for
you for such a long time.
