ized. Suspect(s) forced entry
and stole cash. Crime scene

system apparently activated by

higher positions in the depart­
ment, or who were using this
back door maneuver exten­
sively, were given one-to-two
week unpaid suspensions.
Monetarily, this resulted in at
least a $1,000 dollar fine for the
people involved. There is one
aspect that I feel Director Greer
left unresolved. I think it is ob­
vious that some people were
denied tags because of his
staff's actions and are thus en­
titled to some compensation. I
feel that everyone who was de­
nied a tag because of these in­
appropriate employee tactics
should have been notified so
they could take legal recourse.
With fee hunting operations in
Eastern Oregon receiving up­
wards of $5,000 for elk hunts,
the scale is set for financial ret­
ribution.
