Large turnout for WGS track team L o g g e rs s c h e d u le three diamond frays Washington Grade School track coach Rena Titus and assistant coach Clint Kelly are preparing 30 seventh and eighth graders for the 1998 Track and Field season. “We have a good group of kids," said Titus. “Right now we’re working to finalize which events each of the kids will compete in.” WGS’ team has a lot to choose from, nine running and Logger baseball, after their dazzling opener March 16, hit a snag in the form of scheduling mix-ups, which led to the can cellation of their trip to Gaston March 20. Vernonia played at Portland Lutheran yesterday (March 31) and will head to Corbett April 3. Both games were five innings and mixed players from the varsity and junior varsity squads. Game one ended in a 13-6 loss for Vernonia.
