V S e ** ♦ <. *■* t- The INDEPENDENT, August 6,1997 Page 9 anks Barbecue readied The annual Banks Barbe cue & Tractor Pull gets off to a weekend of fun on Friday, Au gust 15, with a Fun Shoot at the Banks Gun Club from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m, Saturday events will start at 9:00 a.m. with registration for Horseshoe Pitch competi tion, and the Singles contest will start at 10:00 a.m The hamburger stand will open at noon and, from 5- 7:00 p.m., will feature a spe cial “Bill Burger" in honor of Bill Crowther, who ran the stand for many years. The Beer Garden will be open Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to midnight. When the parade reaches the park, there will be a flag rais ing. The much-anticipated Bar becue Beef Sandwiches will be served starting at noon, when the Beer Garden also opens. The Truck & Tractor Pull w " fill the afternoon, starting at 1:00 p.m. Kids’s games are also fea tured on Sunday, with a Greased Pole climb followed by a Frog Jump and, at 2:30, a new event, a kids’ Pedal Pull. Additional events, includ ing a drawing for a handmade quilt, will be ongoing during the weekend. All events will take place at Sunset Park except the wor ship service and the parade.
