N ow ’s tim e to volunteer for Jam boree Vernonia Friendship Jam boree will be held August 1,2 and 3, but a lot more volun teers are needed to help with various tasks and events. The greatest need, at this time, is for help with the parade. Another event lacking vol unteers is the Jamboree Court. If there is going to be a court, someone will have to get started immediately on the arrangements. Vernonia meeting on Wilkerson A Town Hall meeting will be held Thursday, May 22, at 7:00 p.m. at the Vernonia Se nior Center (446 Bridge Street), by the Columbia County Forests, Parks and Recreation Department to discuss and gather public in put for a Diseased Tree Man agement Plan for Camp Wilk erson Park. The 780-acre park has benefited county residents and visitors of all ages, partic ularly youth, since 1936. For this reason, public input is needed to help guide the County Forests, Parks and Recreation Department in making critical decisions about managing diseased trees at the park.
