The INDEPENDENT, May 7,1997 Page 9 OSU Extension provides lots of variety for adult “Mini-College The 1997 version of Exten sion Mini-College at Oregon State University, will be held June 16-19, in Corvallis. “Mini-College features in formational adult classes and is a wonderful opportunity to get away from the daily rou tine, make new friends and learn new things," said Laura Berman, coordinator of Mini- College. A basic three-night Mini- College package costs $200, which covers food, a double- occupancy room with private bath, a banquet, and class fees. The deadline for registra tion is May 23. Participants have more than 35 classes to choose from, as well as daily general assemblies and other special activities. Classes are filled on a first come basis. OSU faculty members and other experts will teach a va riety of classes. A new competition, “Home maker of the Year”, has been Young equestrians from two to 17 years old have the opportunity to participate in Junior Rodeo, July 14 and 15, at the Columbia County Fair grounds. There will be four age divi sions, with participants com peting in age-appropriate events including bull riding, bareback riding, barrel racing, pole bending, gcat tying and more.
