' ' \ î V ' iTuiten-tJ^cAe LOUISE E. KINDEL Louise E. Ruckman Kindel, 75, Banks, died July 22, 1996, at Hills boro. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 24, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Roy. Concluding rites and interment followed at Visita tion Cemetery. Mrs. Kindel was born May 17, 1921, at Marionville, Mo., to the late Frank and Abby Michele Ruckman. The family moved to Pendleton dur ing the Depression, returning to Mis souri after two years. In 1943 she moved to Portland with her family. Her father owned the land where David D ouglas High School now stands. She married Cecil N. Kindel in 1946, they lived on a sm all farm north of Hillsboro. Mr. Kindel died in 1978. Mrs. Kindel, after the death of her husband, moved to Lincoln City and worked as a private duty nurse. She returned to Hillsboro in 1982, where she lived for six years. She moved to Banks in 1988. Mrs. Kindel was a member of S t Matthew’s Catholic Church in Hills boro from 1946 to 1979. She was a member of St. Francis Parish in Roy. She was preceded in death by four brothers. Donelson Sewell & Mathews Mor tuary of Hillsboro was in charge of ar rangements. Mrs. Beard was born April 15, 1934, at C e d ar R apids, Iow a, to Lester and Ruth (Uoyd) Korsmo. The family moved to Banks in 1946, and she g ra d u a te d from B anks High School. She m arried Russell Beard in 1954 at Stevenson, Wash. They lived in Hillsboro for 20 years, then Tillam ook for six years before moving to Banks, where they lived until retiring to LaPine in 1995. EVELYN WISE Evelyn Wise, 84, Forest Grove, died July 12, 1996, of causes related to age. A memorial service was held July 20 at Bible Church of Dilley. Dis position was by cremation. Mrs. W ise was born Dec. 24, 1911 at Bandon. Her maiden name was Fish. She married Bill Wise in 1930. Mrs. Wise was a homemaker, and a member of Bible Church of Dilley. She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1983. Survivors include a son, Wiliam Wise of Cornelius; two daughters, Patty King of Banks and Lela Newell of Portland; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. S kyline Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Beard was a homemaker. She was a member of the Lady Elks, Lodge No. 2780 in Tualatin Valley. She attended the Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Dolores Curry of Banks, Anita Beattie of Portland and Linda Vandehey of Vernonia; two brothers, Lester of Hillsboro and Bill of Pouls bo, Wash.; sister, Ruth Patton of Flip pin, Ark.; five grandchildren. Remembrances are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 0330 S.W. Curry St., Portland 97201; or to the American Diabetes Association, 6915 S.W. Macadam, No. 130, Port land 97219. JUANITA BEARD Juanita Beard, 62, La Pine, died July 26, 1996, at her daughter's resi dence in Banks, following a short ill ness. Graveside services were held Fuiten-R ose Chapel of Forest Grove was in charge of arrange ments. July 30, at Forest View Cemetery. In terment followed. JOHN J. “DUKE” IBACH John J. ‘ Duke" Ibach, 73, Estaca da, died July 16, 1996, in Houston, British Columbia, of a heart attack. Funeral services were held July 20, in Estacada Funeral Chapel. Inter ment was in Mount Zion Cemetery. Mr. Ibach was bom April 1, 1923, in Banks. He had lived in Estacada since 1966 and ow ned a logging business for more than 50 years. Survivors include his son, Allen of Newberg; daughters, Janice Mills and Merrie, both of Banks, and Sher rie Lubbes of Anaconda, Mont.; sis ter, Patricia Parker of Estacada; sev en grandchildren; seven great-grand children. GLADYS J. GAGLIANO Gladys Jean Gagliano, 54, Cor nelius, died July 23, 1996, at Wythe C ounty C om m unity H o sp ita l in Wytheville, Va. Graveside services were held at Union Point Cemetery in Banks. Vault interment followed. Mrs. Gagliano was bom June 10, 1942 at Grand Rapids, Minn, to Arvid H. and Dora B. (Meride) Palki. When she was 2, her family moved to Cali fornia, then to C ottage Grove in 1949. She graduated from Cottage Grove High School in 1960. She married Leonard Gagliano in 1960, at London. They lived in Cot tage Grove until moving to Spring- field. In 1971 they m oved to 'th e Hood River then, in 1975, to Cor nelius.
