Applications being accepted now for electrician apprenticeships Metro Electrical Training Center will accept applica tions for two apprenticeship programs, Limited Energy Technician, and Inside Elec trician. Applications will be ac cepted for 10 weekdays start ing July 15, 1996, and ending Friday, July 26. All applica tions must be made in person at the Metro office from 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 5600 NE 42nd Avenue, Portland (cor ner of NE 42nd and Killings- worth). Photo identification will be required. Minimum requirements for both programs are as follows: (1) at least 18 years of age, proof of age may be required; (2) high school graduate with a 2.0 GPA (C average) or GED of 230 points, official high school transcripts must be mailed directly to the Metro office by the school in either case, official GED re sults are required (if applica ble) and must be mailed di rectly to Metro by the issuing agency; (3) minimum grade of C or better for one full year of high school algebra or equiv alent college algebra cours es, official transcripts docu menting these courses must be mailed directly to the Metro office by the school, or, current math placement test Comfort & Convenience results from Portland Com munity College indicating a placement level beyond high school level algebra. An additional requirement of a qualifying score on NJATC aptitude test, is need ed for the Inside Electrician Apprenticeship program. All transcripts and support ing documents must be re- w & ceived in the Metro office by August 23, 1996; hand-deliv ered transcripts will not be ac cepted. All applicants who meet the minimum program and application requirements will be scheduled for an oral interview and all notifications will be made by mail. If accepted into the pro gram, applicants will be re- quired by their employer to take a substance abuse test.
