The contest will be held on Saturday, December 16, be- Firewood sale will aid Booster projects The Vernonia High School boosters will be raising funds for their projects by selling maple firewood at $85/cord, a cc o rd in g to m em ber and com m ittee chairman Randy Parrow. The w ood, do n a te d by Busch Logging, will be deliv ered free of charge to local buyers, Parrow said. Anyone in te re ste d in buying wood should call Parrow at 429- 1093. Open House set at 47J offices The community is invited to join the staff of Vernonia School District 47J in cele brating the holiday season at an Open House on Friday, December 15 from 1 - 4 p.m. in the D is tric t office , 475 Bridge Street. ginning at 9:00 a.m. in the W ashington Grade School gym. First and second place fin ishers in three age divisions (8-9, 10-11 and 12-13) will advance to the county con test, to be held in St. Helens on January 6. Volunteers needed for VHS site council Three positions are open on the Vernonia High School site council. Needed are one c la s s ifie d e m p lo ye e who works at VHS, one parent, and one VHS student (non voting member). One of the site council’s main responsibilities is con tributing to school reform and staff development.
