Peoples’s Choice winners for Jamboree Arts and Crafts Show The Vernonia Jam boree A rts and C rafts Show was very successful, with 452 visi tors signing the guest book. Votes cast for the Fine Arts Award People’s Choice to talled 462; 336 votes were cast for Craft Award People’s Choice. W inners were Pat Chapel's “ M ultnomah Falls Morning” and the Vernonia Senior Center Quilt “Tree of Life". The sixth Vernonia Health Center Celebrity Golf Tourna ment was again a huge suc cess, as more than 70 golfers com peted for prizes at the Vernonia Golf Course. Winning this year’s tourna ment was the team of Stuart G rady, Rob M urray, Fred Busch and Mark Busch, play ing with Mel Krause, former head coach of the Oregon Ducks baseball team . The w inners posted a best ball score o f-15. Jamboree Fishing Derby winners Eighty-six children entered the 1995 Jamboree Fishing Derby and the Over-All Win ner for the most fish caught was Vernonia resident Na- then McAlvage, with 51 fish. Taking first place for the lo ng est fis h w as D anyelle Thomas of Vernonia, with a 9-1/5" prize-winner. In second place was Max Hanit of Ari zona, whose fish measured 8-3/4 inches.
