They resided in H o o p e s to n , III., u n til m o v in g to O regon in 1937. T hey lived firs t in Birkenfeld, then Mist, and m oved to Vernonia in 1951. His first wife, Carrie, died in 1969. In 1970, he married Ellen A. Nel s o n S u n d q u is t a t P o rtla n d . T h e y m ade their hom e in Vernonia. Ellen Davis died in 1991. Butler, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Beaverton, officiat ing. Mr. Bergerson was bom June 8, 1928, to Elmer and Blanche A. East erly Bergerson, on the fam ily’s Ver nonia farm . He w as a graduate o f Vernonia High School class of 1947. He married Virginia H. Galchutt in 1949 at P ortland. They resided in Vernonia throughout their marriage. Mr. Bergerson was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Ko rean W ar from 1951 to 1955. His lifelong work was in the tim ber industry, both as a contract log ger and tree farm grower. He was a m em ber of the Small Woodlands As s o c ia tio n a n d w as re c o g n iz e d as 1969 Tree Fanner of the Year. He w a s a m e m b e r o f the F irs t Christian Church in Vernonia. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two brothers, Ralph and Don ald, both of Vernonia; several nieces, nephew s, grand-nie ces and g ra n d nephews. Marble, o f the Gales Creek Church of God, officiating. Mr. W olf was bom Dec. 7, 1927, in M arshall, O kla, to T hom as Levi and Nellie C. Simpson Wolf. He grew up in Marshall and later moved with his family to Warrenton, then Vernon ia. He s e rv e d in th e U .S . A rm y, 3605th Ordnance Heavy Automotive Maintenance Company and was dis charged in 1947. He married Judy Marie Geiwitz in 1971 in Forest Grove. Following their m a rria g e , th e y re s id e d in F o re s t G rove, then m oved to G aribaldi in 1993. Mr. W olf worked for Forest Fiber Mill for 23 years as a fork lift driver, until retiring in 1990. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a brother, Francis of Vernon ia; sisters, Ruth Sullivan of Beaver ton, N ellie A nderson o f A loha and Catherine Dailey of Quartzsite, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews. CHARLOTTE M. MOULTON C h a rlo tte M. M o ulton, 95, San Jacinto, died Nov. 27, 1994, in San Jacinto. A M ass o f C hristian Burial w as held Dec. 2 at St. W enceslaus Catholic Church in Scappoose. Burial was in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Mrs. Moulton was bom March 2, 1899, in Michigan Her maiden name w as Poetter. She lived in Vem onia fro m 19 2 4 u n til 1 9 4 2 , w h e n s h e m oved to P ortland. She m oved to California in 1949. D u rin g h e r w o rk in g y e a rs , she was em ployed as a nurse’s aide. Survivors include a daughter-in- law, Jeanne M oulton of Santa Bar bara, Calif.; numerous grand-children and great-grandchildren. Mr. F uquay w as born A p ril 17, 1952, in Norfolk, Va., to Frank E. and B e tty H o r r is b e r g e r F u q u a y. He m oved to Vemonia with his family as a child and graduated from Vemonia H igh S chool in 1970. He attended Treasure Valley Com m unity College in O ntario fo r a year and graduated from Portland State University. W hile attending PSU, he worked a t th e O regon P rim ate C enter. He also worked as a realtor, as a fire in v e s tig a to r fo r F arm ers Insurance, with his brother in their own construc tion business and as a driver for Spe cial Mobility Services prior to joining the Washington County Sheriff's de partm ent in 1985. He first served as a c o rre c tio n s o ffic e r and la te r b e c a m e a p a tro l o ffic e r. He w a s a sergeant at the time o f his death. Sgt. Fuquay had received numer ous awards and earned the Oregon Medal of Valor in 1989. H e he ld both p riva te and co m mercial pilot’s licenses. In 1991, he and his wife, M ade line, were married in Hillsboro. Survivors in addition to his wife, include his mother, Betty Fuquay of F o re s t G rove; a brother, R obert of Tualatin; and two step-children, Kass and Miranda Larson, both of Tigard. » In this time of sorrow, I want to say thank you to our many friends in Vemonia, for their prayers and sup port.
