City Hall gets a brand new look Vernonia City Hall has a sparkling new interior, thanks to the work of dedicated city employees who volunteered their time and efforts. The c ity pu rcha sed tile , carpeting and paint, but aside from the carpet and tile instal lation, all of the labor was provided by em ployees— in their "spare" time— which in cluded nights and weekends. The office functions of city government were moved into the library during the refur b ishing , but C ity Hall was alive with activity as furniture was moved, walls and ce il ings w ere scrub be d and p a in te d , the heavy wood, b ra ss and m arble co u n te r was re-positioned, light fix tu re s w ere scrub be d, and much more. Though most of the work perform ed was fa r beyond the scope of the employees' official duties, volunteer help was provided by employees in every city department. Secure the future of those you love.
