Profits from the tournament will help support the cost of health care for the com m unity by adding to the general fund of the non-profit clinic. The clin ic does not deny care to any one in the community on the basis of their inability to pay. The format of the 18 hole tournament is a 4 Man/Wom- an Team plus one celebrity. Each team will be able to pur chase their team celebrity at an auction on Friday, Aug. 28, 7 p.m. at Lew's Place. Prizes will be given for Low Gross and Low Net team scores. Entry fee is $25 plus green fees. All golfers are urged to join in the fun and, at the same time, help support the local health center. Program helps provide school clothes Providing school clothes for needy children is the pur pose of the Back to School Clothing Project, which was begun many years ago by the Plymouth Presbyterian Church in St. Helens. The project now operates county wide with the assistance of the D epartm ent of Hum an R esources V o lu n te e r p ro gram. The program attempts to provide one new outfit, socks and underwear for qualified children. This year, thanks to a donation from Avia, it is hoped that new athletic shoes will also be available. Donations of "as good as new" clothing are accepted, along with new clothes and cash d o n a tio n s . Used clothes are exchanged with a different community. '50s • '60s Rock & Roll/Country Music Saturday, Aug. 1,9 pm - 2 am Hole in one at junior golf tourney The highlight of a Junior Golf Tournament held July 24 at the Vernonia Golf Club was a Hole-in-One scored by Bri an Malensky of Hillsboro. In addition to Malensky, whose ace came on the 149 yard, par 3, 7th hole, twenty-two youngsters participated in the tournament. Other winners were Jason Bunker (16-17 yr boy), Dawn Fulmer (15-17 yr girl), Jason Reichert (14-15 yr boy), Jon Vogel (12-13 yr boy), Dawne Dinner served until 8:30 Short orders available later Herbert (12-14 yr girl), Jon M ulleda (8-11 yr boy) and Mathew Sterling (6-7 yr boy).
