Marc Julian was the Most Im proved runner and Chris Sevig was awarded the Aca demic Medal. Anne H aaja was nam ed O utstanding Runner on the G irls C ross C ountry team . Danielle Long was Most Im proved and Elisabeth Harung re ce ive d the A ca d e m ic Award. In V arsity F oo tb all, Colt Young was Most Valuable; T rygve B e rg e, M ost Im proved,;Bryon Hendershott, Most Inspirational. Andy Stanley was named Best Lineman and Chris Wolf, Best Back. Improved went to the entire team. Varsity Volleyball awards went to Most Valuable Player, Jenny Budge; Most Inspira tional, Jessica Jensen; spe cial certificates tor the Most Junior Varsity II Most Valu able Play was Sandra Premo; Most Improved went to Tandle Cox and Improved to Amber Kelly. Junior Varsity I Most Valu able P layer Award and the Most Inspirational Award were both awarded to Elisha West by; Leah Keenon was named Most Improved. VHS winter sports getting underway Boys' basketball Girl hoopsters start on the road will start Friday V e rn o n ia H igh S ch o o l's Lady Logger Basketball team started their season Monday, Nov. 26 at Knappa and they have a busy schedule in De cember. They will go to Rainier on the third, host Clatskanie on the 8th, go to Corbett on the The Loggers' B asketball team w ill start their season Friday at Neah-Kah-Nie, then come home to face Rainier on Dec. 3rd, Corbett on the 11th, and Oregon Episcopal School on the 14th. They will finish the month's co m p e titio n go in g to C la t skanie on the 15th and to Knappa on the 18th. The games will all start at 6 p.m. Head Coach Scott Finlay is assisted by Tim Titus. Wrestlers go to the mat on Dec. 6 The Logger grapplers will start their season on Dec. 6 against Clatskanie and Wood land, at Clatskanie. Starting time is 6:30 p.m. Dec. 15 will find them com peting against seven other team s - C orbett, W aldport, S cio, W a rre n to n , W asco County, N eah-K ah-N ie and Dayton. The meet will start at 10 a m. at Corbett. Dec. 20, the Loggers will go to R ainier to m eet both R ainier and Sherwood in a 6:30 p.m. meet.
