Buyers should be forewarned that only Factory Authorized Dealers can sell new cars. Anyone purchasing from an auto broker is buying a pre-owned vehicle. Only Factory Authorized Dealers can do warranty work or s e ll extended service policy programs. Any a fte r-m a rke t extended service policies will not be honored in Columbia County. People who choose to buy from a broker should decide - before spending thousands of dollars - where warranty work may be performed after purchase. The factory warranty goes to the original owner; it must be transferred to the second owner and may involve hidden costs. We are extremely disappointed that a C olum bia County business would encourage any policy other than "Shop Locally" and we want C olum bia re sidents to be aware of p o te n tia l problems.
