Marx Seaside Signal On Monday, June 22, the Seaside City Council approved a plan to pro- hibit medical marijuana dispensaries in the city’s downtown core. After a year-long moratorium on dispensaries, the vote com- pleted the process of ex- cluding portions of the city from the sales of medical marijuana. The legislation sets re- strictions on where medi- cal marijuana dispensaries can operate and allows the city to distribute business licenses to dispensaries, according to City Manager Mark Winstanley. City staff reviewed a number of different options for outlining the exclusion area, before determining an area between a line 600 feet north of the Broadway right- of-way that extends from the east side of North Prom to the west side of North Roosevelt Drive, and a line drawn 600 feet south of the Broadway right-of-way that extends from the east side of South Prom to the west side of South Roosevelt Drive. Councilors said in earlier meetings that the exclusion zone would maintain a “fo- cus for families” downtown, May 27 7:03 a.m., South Holladay Drive: Caller reported man yelling and screaming at cars. Officers re- sponded and advised of disorderly conduct. May 27 4:09 a.m., 800 block of South Roosevelt Drive: Female called 911 because she was upset she was trespassed, also upset about the way she was treated by the employee. Officers made contact, she was advised. 8:20 a.m., 500 block of Broadway: Caller reported subject possibly having mental issues at Quatat Park. Officer responded, subject ad- mitted to drug use and requested transport to hospital. Medix was dispatched. 2:09 p.m., 300 block of South Prom: Caller reported guest smoking marijuana in hotel room. Officers responded and assisted manage- ment in having parties leave. 9:32 p.m., North Prom: Desk clerk reported guest passed out on the front lawn. Officer responded. Sub- ject was released to responsible. May 29 8:11 p.m., 700 block of Fourth Avenue: Caller reported three people entering a vacant house. Officers responded. Subjects were contacted. June 1 7:48 p.m., Edgewood and Broad- way: Officers responded to 911 call reporting a female hitting head on city garbage can. Upon officer contact, she said she is prone to epileptic episodes. Subject was uninjured. 8:47 p.m., 1300 block of 13th Ave- nue: Caller reported subject sleep- ing in empty lot. Officers responded and found subject, who was cited last night collecting his belongings. Safeway manager advised of three carts on this empty lot. May 30 10:06 p.m., 1200 block of Fifer Heights: Assisted Gearhart Police Department with a burglary. 1:22 p.m., 1900 block of Spruce Drive: Officer responded to verbal disturbance. Neighbors advised to contact apartment management. 10:05 p.m., 800 block of South Holla- day Drive: Officer responded to 911 call regarding minor in possession of alcohol. May 28 May 31 2:35 p.m., Avenue U and Roosevelt Drive: Off-duty fireman asked for welfare check on man acting errat- ically. Officers responded and gave citizen a courtesy ride home. 9:04 a.m., 300 block of Fourth Avenue: Callers reported intoxicated male standing in one spot for 30 minutes and only having moved 25 feet during that time. Officer contact- ed subject, and he is moving along. 6:56 p.m., 1000 block of South Downing Street: Caller reported neighbor yelling obscenities at her. Officer responded. 8:54 p.m., 100 block of North Ocean Avenue: Officer assisted Gearhart Police with disturbance call resulting in a warrant arrest. 11:08 a.m., Avenue A: Police responded to 911 call about motor vehicle accident. 9:05 a.m., 1100 block of South Roosevelt Drive: Caller reported intoxicated subject standing in Dining on the 11 p.m., Beach and First Avenue: Report of a gunshot; another per- son called, stating it was fireworks. Officers checked the area, unable to locate the suspect. June 2 June 3 1:27 p.m., Pocket Park: Caller report- ed subject sleeping in the park. Officer responded and she was moving on. 8:43 p.m., 400 block of South Roo- sevelt Drive: Caller reported seeing a verbal disturbance. She was afraid it would get worse. Officers responded and made contact with the individuals. They denied the altercation. June 4 8:55 a.m., 89000 Manion Drive: Complaint of extended parking of 1960s black Camero. PR advised he had talked to Dundas and was resolved for a period of time. Now said vehicle is parked there all day. 6:19 a.m., 12th Avenue and Wah- anna Road: Anonymous complaint about a male standing on a porch looking into a house. Subject will return some of the property he has, also returning his shopping cart to Safeway. He was issued a warning. 1:17 p.m., 700 block of Broadway: Caller reported driver letting baby drive while female filmed it. Officers searched downtown area. Vehicle was not located. 1:57 p.m., 700 block of South Wa- hanna Road: Providence Hospital requested officer assistance with hostile patient. Officer responded. 7:16 a.m., 400 block of South Wa- hanna Road: Caller reported items taken off front porch in the middle of the night.
