All minerals have shown increases over the previous year, those most marked being coal and iron ore. The increase in coal was 203,764 tons, ami in iron ore, 69,013 tons. In Great Britain during March changes in the rate of wages affected 331,400 work people. Of these, 829,- 900 roceived advances in wages, aver aging 9^d. per head, while 1,500 per sons suffered a decrease averaging 3d. per head.
