Councilmen asked Van Vactor for an opinion after barbers came to the council last meeting with a proposal that the ordi nance be changed to provide for closing at 8 p. m. instead of 9 p. m. on Saturday nights. This immediately developed into a discussion of the desir ability and legal status of an ordinance of this nature. Saying that If the ordinance wouldn't hold up in court, he thought it ought to be thrown out. Councilman Rollin Cantrall moved for repeal Instead of amendment of the old ordinance. Later he withdrew the motion until Van Vactor could prepare a formal opinion for the council. FOR SCIENTIFIC QIoa.
