Corvalhs Independent, (or the presidency of the student body last night. He defeated Bon Davis, Deer island fraternity man, by 1575 to 1S47 in an election featuring a hot "Creek-Barb" campaign. The vote was the heaviest ever ca.it here. Of seven members elected to the executive committee, two were Independents and five Greeks. They included: . Ken Robinson, Yakima. Wash., fraternity man, first vice presi dent; Jeannette Sims, Milton, in dependent, second vice presi dent; Bill Teutsch. Corvallis, Greek, third vice-president; Bet ty Simpkin, Marshfield, Greek, secretary; Doug Carter, Pendle ton, Greek, president of the Memorial union, and Bob White, Portland, Greek, unopposed for yell leader. Reames Cards Mixed Foursome Carl Llndgran. new pre at the Reames Golf and Country club, announced Thursday thsre will be an opea mixed foursome held Sunday after noon at the dub. The competition, first of the season for local golfers, will start at 1:30. Anyone wishing to enter must appear on the first tee at that hour. Prises will be awarded both the winner and run-ners-up. Following- the banquet the guests attended the Junior prom which was held In the Chiloquin high school gymnasium. Music was furnished by Herb Cochran and his eight-piece orchestra. The gym was decorated In the military motif with national col ors predominating with flags, imitation solders, gun and draped bunting.'. All of this be side the seniors names being artistically placed on the na tional emblem while airplanes soared overhead to the tune of machine guns. The outstanding event of the evening which occurred at mid night was the coroj atlon of the prom queen. The playing of "Good Bless America" by Herb Cochran and his band ilgnaled the entrance of the royal guard with swords which formed an arch formation for the royal procession Preceding the queen' entrance tne four prin cesses, each carrying colonial bouquets, were escorted to the stage by Junior boys. The order of appears-ce was: Vonda Wil lis and Clare Taylci; Ada Gia comelli and Bill Bell, Jewell Fa gan and Bob Swlnoler; Marilyn Wiley and Donald Potter. Prom queen, Gloria Holmes, wearing the traditional robe of royal blue and white satin and carrying an arm bouquet of red carnation waa escorted to the stage and crowned by Hugh Carter.
