In fact there waa practically no change eaggeated at any of tbe leading primary markets ef the country. Offerings of vary Inferior cheese In the local trade con tinued a eeiione factor egalnst the market, but tbia stock was not generally met with. Local prleee were held fairly steady during the period and there was no change suggested at Tillamook. Butter Steady The market for butter was jnst about steady locally. Last week there was a very liberal decrease In receipts from out- atate points and eentraliier out put was also smaller. There was no change In open prices for the day. , Since announcement was made that egg prleee here would ad vance l esnt, there has been considerable Improvement In the buying and tbe volume of busi ness has been substantially In creased all around. Out-state in ferior stuff was still a factor. Market for lire bens continued lo show a firm tone locally bnt with no further price change. Tbe springer stuff was not so firm. Walnuts Arrive Market for country killed meats showed a very good tone and almost general strength was reflected. Beef alone remained slow with much stuff being of fered that was previously held back. Much Improved demand for honey was Indicated. Tbe call was gaining and a short crop tor both comb and milk stock was generally reported through this territory. ..... First carload of walHuta of the season has been" reported In from California. Sales of Em erald budded to retailers were around 16c wltb No. 1 at 17c pound. Locale were expected within a week. Another spell of weakneas has struck tbe potato trade here as a result of the conflict between fighting brokers of Portland. Yakima stock was being sacri ficed and this has resulted In lower prices for tbe entire po tato trade here. - Notes of wholesale trading: Emperor grapes were arriving from tbe south: wine grapes- no another nickel; Concord - grape movement was gaining with price unchanged. Fair movement of peaches eat ol storage at eteady prices. . Bweet potatoes were generally lower. Bean market was weak tor dry offerings, some lower. II, (P) The F. W, Woolworth store In Roseburg was a complete loss to day as the result of a stubborn blase which lost night occasioned damages estimated at about $75,' 000. The fire also destroyed the fixtures at Green's recreation hall, a pool room and upstairs dance parlor, and gutted the two story brick building owned by A. J, Hochrsdel of this. city. The tire was discovered about 10:30 o'clock last night, appar ently hkvlng started In the base ment of the Woolworth store.
