Beavere Face Gonsaga Of the northern teams, Oregon State college, under its new coach, Lon Stiner, faces the stifteat as signment in meeting the Bulldogs of Gonzaga. The game will fur nish a yardstick to measure con ference strength, for the Bulldogs have been beaten by the Univer sity ot Oregon and the University ot Washington already this year. Completing the program for the conference teams, Oregon will face Columbia, and the University of Idaho will take the field against Whitman college in a pair of games rated aa "easy" for the circuit members. Oct. 6, (UP) Two weeks ago Dr. Lloyd Shaw, superintendent of Cheyenne Mountain high school, announced that bis school would abandon football this year for bronco riding and steer wres tling. "It is less dangerous and more cultural, too," he declared. Dr. Shaw sustained a cracked rib today while he was giving his class a lesson on bulldogglng. He dismissed the Injury lightly. "A cracked rib Is nothing,' he said. "I used to get them often when I was btilldogglng steers as an occupation. The rodeo sports will continue to be a part of this high school's cur riculum." Plays, penalties and football terms were discussed In the talks, together with a general explanation ot the game Itself. This custom of football instruc tion for the students waa first given several years ago, and has been revived again this year by Paul T. Jackson, principal.
