Jack Sharkey, a man who acquired a championship with out consistent display ot abil ity, has set out on the trail trod by nearly all ex-champion. Sharkey, comparatively wealthy, haa told the sport ing world he will come back, but there haa been nothing in his record to Indicate he can ever come back. Edwards, an old time alar himself, has set out to make real players from the young aters In the county. He en tered bis Pelicans In the South ern Oregon league, he devel oped a team through his own initiative, and has earned the right to have his Pelicans named the oTficial baseball team of the city. ... Both Shaw-Bertram and the All-Stars missed t'ae oppor tunity Edwards accepted. Per haps. they didn't want the op portunity. The Pelicans hare moved forward In popularity and have maintained themselvc . as one of the leaders ot their leazue. But Shaw-Bertram and the All-Stars believe they are toe teams to lick the Pelicans. As a result both these Inde pendent teams have Issued challenges, and Frisco Ed wards, slways ready for a tight, has accepted. Frisco thinks he can trim Shaw-Bertram and the All Btars and he believes this so thoroughly he'd almost be willing to tackle them both in an afternoon. Indian Patients of Nevada at Bidwell FT. BIDWELL, Cal July 20. (Special) - There has been a sudden Increase In population In this city with the removal of 40 patients from the Indian hospi tal at Pyramid Lake In Nevada to the hospital on the Indian reservation here. All of the hospital equipment from the Nevada Institution is also being moved here also. Last year the Indian service discon tinued the school maintained here for Indian children, but maintained a modern hospital. TENNIS KHUSE TAKES RAY IN BOUT Swede Anderson Loses To George Nelson On Spinner Farmer Boh Kruse, using everything In the book, took Kay Frlsble Into camp by winning tw out ot three falls In their match last uight at Legion hall. The farmer took the first fall on a combination leg hold and body presa In about 15 minutes. Frlsble came back to win -the second fall in two and a half minutes by stepping on Kruse's toot and handing him a Sonnen berg butt. In the final period Kruse took the match with a Japanese leg si retch in 20 min utes. It was oneof those matches where evervthlug happena. It was In and' out ot the ropes rough stuff galore with Kruse getting in the best licks In the pinches. The match was stopped at ono time when fans atarted throwing peanuts Into the ring In protest of dirty tactics by Kruse. Nelson, a Logan, Utah, g rap pier, looked good In his victory over Anderson. Nelson tossed his victim with an airplane spin and put him out. Anderson couldn't come back and waa granted an extra five minutes time by hla adver sary. The commission doctor wouldn't let Anderson go back In the ring and Nelson won the match. Twenty Killed In Earthquake Near Istanbul ISTANBUL, July 21. OP) Twenty persons were killed in a sharp earthquake In the village of Tchlvril, near the city of Den llii, Turkey, yesterday. From the rulna of many houses ten persons were removed, seri ously injured, this morning. Oth er vlllagea were believed affected. The shocks continued today at Tchlvril.
