Gilbert Jonas of Dairy will be on the boxing card at Chlloquln ax a curtain raiser. He Is , mutched with one of the Chilo ?a boys. Gilbert fights at 75 (pounds. KIRK NOTES IN A M. CHRISTY Newa Correspondent KIRK, April 11. After a month of spring weather, old King Boreas has shown up again, and the fields and highways in and near Kirk are again buried with snow. Snow fell steadily all day Sunday. By early Mon day morning approximately alx Inches of snow had fallen. The Kirk Community club held a joint business and social meet ing at the school house on Thurs day night. A committee was ap pointed, consisting of Mrs. Bur Ion. chairman. .Mrs. F. W. I'ad enhead and Mrs. S. O. Davis. The committee will make pluns for a community picnic on the last day of school. After the business meeting the school pupils gave an interesting musical program which was followed by several contests. Mrs. Elsie Bur ton and Mrs. W. A. Carlton were la charge of the entertainment for the evening. Tho club wHl probably be discontinued during the summer. However, another meeting will be held. The first meeting of the next year will be held on the first Friday after tho commencement of school in September. Mr. and Mrs. Cbarles Duval and two children, Robert and June, who have resided at Martin during the winter, moved to Chlloquln last Thursday, where Mr. Duvall expects to be employ ed during the summer. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Christy and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Christy mo tored up from Klamath Falls last Thursday. The party had lunch at the C. W. Flinn home with Mrs. Anna Coffee, who is a sis ter of Mrs. H. E. Christy. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Elttreim. who were employed by the South ern Pacific until just recently, returned to their former bome in Wisconsin. They were accom panied by Mr. Elttreim' mother. They are making the trip by motor. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Carlstrom spent Sunday In Klamath Falls visiting at the bome of Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan, former residents of Kirk. Tbe Carlsons stopped at Modoc Point and brought Mrs. Elise Burton and daughter, Jean, back with them. The Forest Lumber company has employed a carpenter to eon struct a house or BUI Carro, who is track walker for the lum ber company. George Chapman .made a trip to Klamath Falls on Saturday. . The local freight train bas changed Its schedule and now ends the run at Modoc Point in stead of Kirk. This change puts Kirk on the Crescent Lake run. Those who were witnesses for the plain tiff were Charles Steyskal, Ed win Pctratek and Lloyd Smith, doctor. Those for the defendant were Mervyn Wilde, David Mc Comb, Mr. Street, Miss MacMil lan and Bennle Layman. The jurors were Grace Thompson, Helen Honslk. Ellen Weaterburg, Altco Worlow, Viola Worlow. Carrie Wearer, Joe Mlkaovaky,, Earnest Stewart, Richard Jack mau and John Mlksorsky, fore man. .The final verdict of the Jury, by a. majority vote, was lu favor of the defendant. Tho Christian Endeavor so cieties of . Malln. Merrill and Klamath mils held a rally at Merrill Saturday. April . A contest was held to seu which group could bring the most mem bers, and Malin won. The prixe was one dollar. Malln had thirty-seven members present at the rally. The outcome of the annual selling contest was decided Mon day. April 8. the sophomores winning with a total of 101 an nuals sold. The seniors and juniors sold 97, making a total of 193 annuals sold.
