Page Two Tuesday. Oototar 2(. 102t THE KLAMATH NEWS West Point Cadets Plan Defeat of Yale on Saturday NEW YORK. Oct.' S5.1 United ) West l'olnl' football tram U preparing for next Saturday's gam against Yale with two ob jects In mind. The Cadet want to avenue a lonn series nf defeats at the ends of the Klin anil they want to establish a claim to the cham pionship of the Knst. In rase the Army lose or h held to a tie, the eastern rhapionship. which doesn't mean much, but which everyone aspires to. prohahly will drop into the lap of the University of Pennsylvania. ..The Red and nine has only one Dor hiKh hurdle to clear. That ta Saturday's name with Illinois at Urban. From then on the Quakers, undefeated this year, probably can keep their slate clean. Interesting intersections! ancle is furnished Saturday- games by the fact that while the East is sending its strongest team to the West, the West sends its most powerful aggregation, Michigan, east to play the Nary. Although the Middies hare not been defeated this year they appear likely to take the count against Fielding Yost's combina tion at Baltimore this week. Brown, having conquered Yale, has Dartmouth. Harvard and Col gate yet to defeat before setting up any claims to eastern supremacy. .Lafayette, with a clean slate, has picked op on Indifferent opposition and does not rate with the leaders. Boston College, the only big team of t'he East that has not been scored on this1 season, also has a weak schedule. ...It well may happen. that there will be no outstanding eastern champion when the 1916 season ends. Army and Penn alone seem to have a chance. The Cadets must beat Yale. Notre Dame and the Navy, while the Quakers must dis - pose of Illinois, Penn State and Cor nell. ...... . ., Seratti-Ritchie Fight Attracting Much Attention i The long-awaited fistic .-lassie be. , 'tween Ijirry Seratti.
