THE BETTER' WAY 1 Let ua ignore tho darta, the stings, our nervous , neighbors at us throw: the small, the mean, the petty things; the lie they herald to and fro. Let us ignore the' faction, -strife, of ruco, of place, of class and creed ; such aspish things thai poiron life, and anger, hate and mad ness breed. VVhutevrr be one's facial hue;, whatever be one's faith or light, let's give to each and all their due who search fur truth and do the right.'-' Lets make of earth a better sphere; a place where kindliness is shown; till pence reigns sure, and want and fear within its confines are unknown. This can't be done with petty strife, nor yet where tongues of falsehood run; this can't be done where greed is rife;' where rancour lives it can't be done. The law of love's the only force to make us betU-r day by day; kept to the path of no remorse, we hei j man on this upward way. phoki iaoo WESTERN TRANSFER COMPANY 410 MAIN TnAXBFKH AND D MAYING NOTICE I am an Independent caa- dldaut for the offlro of Ju llce ot tho Praco for Link vllhi ilUtrict, Klamath County, Oregon, and aland for Justice and rronomy. POLITICAL ANNOUNCEMENT For County Judge G. W. OFFIELD As election time draws near I ; feel that it is due the public that I , announce my reasons for .asking, their support for the ofice of County Judge and my position on questions and. policies that .will be likely , to come up for decision during the next six years. I am a native of Oregon and have resided in Klamath County for the last forty years. I am well acquainted with all parts of the County and know their various needs. I have held various public of fices . during the last twenty-five years and invite any and all voters to inspect my official record and am . willing to be judged by it. : For 10 yUari Justice of Peace for Tule Lake Precinct. For 17 years either Mayor, Coun- cilrrmn or Recorder for town of Merrill. For 7 years President of Klamath Irrigation District and Klamath Water-Users Association. For 4 years Director on the Coun ty School Unit Road. If elected I will use my best en deavor to give Klamath County a clean, economical and efficient bus iness administration. I will have no enemies to punish and no one to re ward at the expense of the public. ; ' . I shall endeavor to carry out and complete the road program as laid out by the. present County Court and J to construct such other roads as the ; county may require as fast as they -can be economically financed. I will conduct the public business of the County as" economically as it can be done without sacrificing ef- f iciency, having in mind that the tax payers' burdens are heavy enough at best, but also that a County that is growing as fast as Klamath must spend some money for development purposes. The County Judge to be elected next November will have, the hand ling of several million dollars of public ''money during the next six years. He will also preside over the Probate and Juvenile Courts. . It seems to me that the only questions to be considered in the coming election are who is the bet ter fitted to levy and expend your tax money, manage your business affairs, take care of your delinquent children, and the estates of your dead. No petty or . personal pre judices should be allowed to obscure the issue. On the above grounds I invite your support in the coming election. Yours truly, G. W. OFFIELD.
