Recently, however, his serving a ; engineer for the city has caused considerable dissentlon, and It had been intimated that, as a result ot his serving without being qualified by law, the city might be plunged Into numerous law suits brought by persons who might decline to pay their assessments on work perform ed under the supervision ot Henry. Although councilmen frequently have expressed themselves aa enter taining no ill will toward Mr. Henry, It was commonly known that they felt his resignation would be the sensible answer to the problem which confronted them. At last night's meeting, the coun cil allowed $90 salary for officers who served on the election boards during the recent elty election.
