There is no doubt that the
railroad committee of the
chamber of commerce correct
ly voiced the attitude of the
people of this community when
it stated that both railroad!
programs are desired, but
that, if the interstate commerce
commission finds there is not
enough business for the two
railroads, then the Southern
Pacific program for a main
line to the east, with feeder
lines centering here, and ter
minal at Klamath Falls, is
the more desirable of the two.
It is unfortunate, however.
that the railroad committee's;'
report was antagonistic in tone ' -toward
the Southern Pacific,
although we do not believe it
was so intended. It is our best j
opinion that the way to get
railroads built is by co-operation
rather than by causing re
sentment of railroad executives
who, after all, are only human
beings like the rest of us.
It is well to bear in mind, in
