They're here to sluy. No ono doHiKnor or group of tailors or barbers can prevail upon Ihe woman of today to let her hair (trow Into long t reuses or to allow her skirls to drop an Inch. Youth menus every thing. Bob bed hair and i Bliort skirts add to youth and grace, and they will al ways remain with tho American girl of today and) tomorrow. Loiik skirt arc cumbersome nnd aro excellent dust collet-torn. Long hair needa constant attention, and comutmeu too much thnn for the prcHftit day Kir!, whono ho.ira are get II iik more precious than ever before. Tho si) mm or will sec some beau tiful creations la gownu, but the dress portion will remain many in ches from the girl's shoe top. Just having visited New York, I have made a careful survey of the com ing sty Irs. Modistes are in favor of the continuation of tthort drcsxc.i. but a cortain group advocate long gowns. They will be overthrown. Barbers have made bobbed bnlr pnrt of their stock. In trade. The bnrhor owning a shop on tho Hide streets and basements knows exactly how to bob a girl's hair. He knows the latest cuts and those most he- coming to each type of patron. Time was when modistes could Is sue orders for styles each season. This is fast pacing and today the great majority of women and young girls demand a hand in deckling what Is proper for new styles. They have decreediwith no little certainty what they want, and what they must get. The high shoe is almost ob solete now. Footwear is exclusively low la style, and colored leather will have a wldo favor during the summer months. SLockings of light colors will also find favor in the American girl's eyes. The coming season will be a color ful one insofar as feminine dress Is concerned. Light hues will predom inate In all dress. Small hats will grace tho bobbed heads, and all In all the girl of tomorrow will be blaze of color, beauty and grace. RIFFIANS? REPULSE SPANISH SOLDIERS PAUIS, Sept. 7. Pelicans Win an Exhibition Game From Bend Outfit Klnmath Falls downed the cham pions of the Centrnl Oregon league, Bend, here yesterday morning by a score of 10 to 3. The game sched uled to be played Sunday was called off on account of inclement weather. The game scheduled for yesterday afternoon met the same fate. Mohlcr hurled a good game for the Pelicans, allowing his opponents but six scattered hits. The field was muddy and hard to play on. The team is now disbanded for the year, a hundred dollars or more in the hole, as a result of poor weather and a big guarantee offered: Bend to come here. Aloha Chapter No. 61 O. E. S.
