Cities grow through the leadership of its Cham ber of Commerce. Its members set the standard of the aims and ambitions of the home city, and should 'have? the wholehearted support of the entire com munity in carrying those plans to a successful con clusion.' A live city is simply impossible without a live Chamber of Commerce. Knockers who constantly hammer away at every project of the Chamber of Commerce should stop and think. ' They only hurt themseWes. Live citizens never side-step an unpleasant duty. They just step' on, or step over knockers and go on their way. REAL HONEST BOOSTERS ARE ALWAYS MEMBERS OF THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. FOUR FLUSHERS ARE NOT. BOOSTERS ARE THE FELLOWS WHO KNOW THE TRUTH WHEN THEY SEE IT, AND GET BUSY. AND LET THE OTHER FELLOWS KNOW IT. BOOSTERS MAKE PEOPLE WHO CAN DO THINGS GET OUT AND DO THEM. BOOSTERS GET GOING AND KEEP GOING, AND THE REST OF THE PEOPLE USUALLY GO . THE WAY, THE BOOSTERS GO. BOOSTERS REALIZE THAT EVERY DOLLAR INVESTED IN THE HOME CITY MEANS A NEW DOLLAR ENLISTED IN ITS SERVICE. Whv Not? : ZZZZ I 1 ! . ! :.' . The statement that this enormous sum of money belongs only to wealthy people who seek to escape taxation is untrue as millions of citizens not count ed plutocrats invest in these securities. A large part of this $13,000,000,000 would never get upon tax rolls in any form, which is true of many other forms of capital savings. The unfair part of the whole situation is, that be ing entirely exempt from taxation, the tax-exempts operate to penalize all other forms of securities and prevent money being used for industrial develop ment. 1 The big investment in tax-exempts hampers rail road development, construction of public utilities and industrial growth-higher rates and prices must be charged, because of higher priced capital to operate off LvtJS -6W wXi-Uf 3fter the eirls are Harried MENT HINT llmikfnst Oatmeal with Cream Boiled Kggs Toai,t Green Applesauce Coffee or Substitute Luncheon Luncheon Salad Scalloped Potatoes Blackberry Jam Baking Powder Biscuits Milk Tea D.'llllcr One Dish Meal Lettuce Salad with Sliced nni..n French Dressing Blackberry Pie Coffee lEAJHOMEpioM . ...i..... 1. .11- to IhVm ml ir w In'. 1. thl leii-r: I marry ' Hear Mrs. Thompson: I am how iru.i him i .. . . ... .i.k .1.11.1.-..,. akna I1.' . wiiimw - unusual Wy, I.
