It has demonstrated it3 ability to play, as thor oughly well as it works by organizing a Golf Club of 200 members arid its own Baseball Club which will show the stuff of which we are made. Most of us have more leisure than formerly, and all the conditions of modern life tend towards more and more spare time. Not only is this for the aver age man, but the resulting benefit should be large ly for him. That is why we need as a community both base ball and golf, to represent the pushing, urging, for ward impulse that is putting Klamath Falls firmly "on the map." ' The' test of any man is thr f.iinmacj umMi v,; he "plays the game" whatever it may be, and meas uring cities by the same vard-stick developing a new personality. If more of us will learn to nlnv n v;t A J va v 1VVUOlUHai" ly the chances are we will wear better and last long er. The exercise of golf and the enhtusiasm of base ball will make livine more wortli-uV;i0 D,i smooth out many a problem. It does not need a Klamath Falls is growing every way. "Here they are using the fulcrum of capital own ership and are actually lifting themselves into posi tions of well-being that amount to affluence in com parison with conditions of European laborers "Instead of fighting capital they are beginning to recognize its power and to use it as an implement lor their own improvement. "There are at least three kinds of evidence that indicate roughly the extent to which laborers are be coming their owri capitalists in this country: first the rapid growth of savings deposits; second, the in vestment of laborers in shares of corporations; third the growth of labor banks."
