convention. Ho was elected presi
dent of the Klamath Indian con

Start During Week
' Papers for the Reames tract were
received yesterday afternoon and all
final touches put to the plans of the
Klamath Golf and Country club for
the initial work to be started on the
course. '
Under the direction ot- Frank Nel
son, golf course expert, a crew of
15 men will start operations the
first of next week, clearing the
course, laying out the holes and haz
ards. Installing the water system,
and getting the land In general con
dition for the seed planting.
According to those who have
looked over the course, the land is
a natural course, with natural haz
ards in places well suited to be for
a golf green.
Word was received In Klamath
Falls yesterday of the death of Mr
Sarah K. Ramsby, mother of Carey
-M. Ramsby and Mrs. U. E. Martin
of Klamath Falls, who passed away
at 2 a. in. Wednesday night " In
Oakland. Death - came after " 'a
lengthy Illness. The aged woman
who was 72 at the time of her
death, was well known In Klamath
county, having lived in Ibis section
of Oregon for more than 25 yaara.
She was born In Mpllala,. Oregon,
and was the widow of CM. Rams
by, who passed away five years ago
in Ashland.
Besides her two children. ' Mrs.
Martin and Mr. Ramsby, she Is sur
vived by her brothers, W., D. Wood
cock, of Richmond. Calif., Newton
Woodcock of San Francisco, and a
sister, Mrs. L. D. Klinger of Dufi
Oregon.
Interment will be '-In Ashland
cemetery tomorrow afternoon, where
Mrs. Ramsby will be' burled In tfie
family plot by her husband..

Enjoy Week' Trip

girls left yesterday for Lake of the
Woods, where .they will, enjoy a
week's visit and outing at the lake.
This Is the ' first out-door trip
taken by the girls this year, and all
manner of wood lora and woodcraft
will be taught the girls by their

tivities, hiking, various work around
