Dunsmuir Council Okays f ire Bureau, Inspector ; :;DUNSMUIR A fire inspoc ; lion bureau and a city fire in- specter position were set up by - the Dunsmuir City Council Monday night. This is one measure of a comprehensive fire rating pro ; gram being pushed by city of ; ficials and the city fire depart ; ment to keep the city's fire in ; surance rates from a possible Jump of 20 per cent, Floyd said In moving adoption of the bureau and inspector post. ; : Lawrence Newton, a retired ' rnember of the Los Angeles Po- lice Department, was named : fire inspector. This will be a part-time position paying $30 a month. The fire inspection bureau will consist of those holding positions of building in spector, fire chief, the new fire inspector, and the councilman ' who is fire commissioner. Elizabeth Cavin, city clerk, presented the council with a framed citation noting the fourth annual state compensa tion safety award won by city employes for having no dis abling injuries during the year. The employes were commended by Mayor David Anderson for this record. George Harrison, property manager, and R. L. Palmer, utility company manager, were named to the city planning com mission. The resignation of Cam Sirianni was accepted. The resignation of Mrs. Mar jorie Bcrryhill last month had created two vacancies on the commission. The contract of John C. You can I prevent the condition by using a little petroleum jelly or min ieral oil on the mucous sur ! faces. ' Persons with high blood pres sure are especially prone to nosebleeds. If this Is the cause, the high blood pressure should be treated. Women sometimes have nosebleeds at monthly in tervals in place of regular menstrual periods. Tho reason for this Is not known. A simple and effective way to stop the nosehleed Is to apply t an ordinary spring-tye clothes Claim Talks To Resume . Anyone who has frequent nosebleeds should be checked for chronic anemia. Q I have been treated for a peptic ulcer for about a year. The X-ray shows that the ulcer is healed but I still have my symptoms. Can an ulcer be cured after it becomes chron ic? A With any of a number of methods of treatment most ul cers heal within eight to 10 weeks. If the stresses that caused the ulcer are not elimi nated the ulcer may come hack but even the most chronic ul cer can usually be cured with proper treatment and appropri ate control measures should help to prevent recurrence. Since the X-rays showed that your ulcer did heal, it is im portant to have your doctor de termine whether your present symptoms arc due to a new ul cer or to some other cause.
