tines for the basketball season
that will get into full swing aft
er the Christmas vacation. The
rally squad receives one ex
pense paid weekend trip
which will be at Portland State
College tltis year on Jan. 10
and the two evening trips to
Southern Oregon College at Ash
land. Earl Kurtz and Gene Culver,
advisers to the Ski Club, are
patiently but eagerly awaiting
the kind of weather that will
get the club in action. Oregon
Tech has had a short ski tow
on campus for more years than
there has been enough snow to
use it, but its first participation
in the sport with other colleges
was at last year's Skicsta at
the Shasta Bowl.

DEER MEET CONFISCATED Some 33 quarters of deer meat have been confiscated
by Oregon State Police from a California man who admitted slaying the deer within a
period of two days. The hunter, Patrick Erin Shelp, 27, of Llvermore, a one-eighth In
dian who has withdrawn from the Klamath Indian tribe, was arraigned in district
court by Judge Robert Kerr and released on $150 bail while the judge takes the case
under advisement. The carcasses (above) will be retained as evidence until comple
tion of the case, after which they will be passed on to county institutions designated
by the court, state police said.
