Note: This recipe can he "baked in Mb. coffee can and 18 large muffin cups. Bake large cake about 2 hours, little ones 55 minutes. SNOWFLAKE WREATHS Makes t dozen cookie. 1 cup butler or margarine, soft 1 teaspoon vanilla ',i teaspoon almond extract 1 cup sifted confectioners' sugar 2 cups sifted all-purpose (lour 'A teaspoon salt 1 cup roiled oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked) Red tinted coconut Green tinted coconut White coconut Beat butter, vanilla and al ' mond extract together until creamy. Beat in sugar gradual ly. Sift together flour and salt. Add to creamed mixture; mix well. Stir in oats (Dough will be quite stiff.) Shape to form wreaths on lightly floured board. Place on ungreased cooky sheets. Bake in preheated slow oven (325 de grees) 20 to 25 minutes. Cool. Frost wreaths with thin while confectioners' sugar frosting. Decorate with coconut. MERRY GINGERBREAD MEN Makes 5 dozen gingerbread men cup shortening, soft Vt cup sugar 1 egg 'i cup dark molasses 3 cups sifted all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon ginger 14 teaspoon ground cloves ',7 teaspoon nutmeg Vi cup milk 2 cups rolled oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked) Beat shortening until creamy; beat in 6iigar gradually. Add egg; beat until light and fluffy. Blend in molasses. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and spices. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Stir in oats. Chill dough about 1 hour. Roll out on light (loured board to H-inch thickness. Cut with (loured gingerbread man cutter. Place on greased cooky sheets. Bake in preheated oven (350 de grees) (or 8 to 10 minutes. When cool, decorate with confection ers' sugar frosting, cinnamon candies, raisins, etc. Christmas Dessert For Yuletidc parties or for Christmas dinner, special des serts are in order. This Apple Nog Noel is made in a fancy mold and garnished with glace fruit and whipped cream. APPI.E-NOO NOKI, 2 envelopes undavorcd gelatin H cup sherry, heated 2 cups canned applesauce 2 eggs, beaten cup sugar 2 cups light cream Dash salt " 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup mixed chopped glace fruit 1 cup heavy cream, whipped Soften gelatin in cold water; dissolve in warm sherry. Cool slightly, and stir into' apple sauce. In top of double boiler, mix eggs, sugar, light cream and suit. Cook and stir over hot water until mixture is slightly thickened and very smooth; stir ki vanilla and cool. Com bine applesauce and egg mix tures; stir in glace fruit. Chill until very thick. Fold in whipped cream. Turn mixture Into a rinsed l'i quart fancy mold and chill until firm. To serve turn out and garnish with additional glace (ruit. or with cherries and whipped cream. Makes fi-8 serv lugs. In place of slurry, 'i cup ap ple juice and I tablespoon rum extract may be used. Dress up the meatloaf or roast with a bracelet of rosy apple balls. Peel two pounds of juicy, jumbo-sized Washington State Red Delicious apples and cut out hails with a ball cutter.
