BRIDE-TO-BE The marriage of Connie Lee Hall and Paul O. Melsnesj will be an event of Nov. 23 in Sf. James the Apostle Catholic Church in Bly. Parents of the future bridal pair are Mr. and Mrs. Franklin R. Hall and Mr. and Mrs. Martin O Melsness, all of Bly. Both young people are graduates of Bly High School. He is presently stationed with the Army at Camp Irwin, Calif. "Hi. "' r 1 - r.. DATE SET Mr. and Mrs. Henry Robbins announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ruth Ann, to E. W. (Bill) Woodcock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest T. Woodcock, Selma, Ore. Their wedding will take place Nov. 30. The bride-elect is a graduate of Klamath Union High School. Her fiance is a graduate of Illinois Valley High School in Cave Junction. Party Fetes Future Bride' BLY A pretty bridal shower was given at the Gearhart Ele mentary School on Oct. 17 to honor Connie Hall, bride-elect of Paul Melsness of Bly. Hostesses for the affair were Mrs. Herbert Hadlev. airs. Ger ald Dillavou and (Mrs. Melvin Brooks. The gift table was decorated with an umbrella and minia ture bridal pair. Tlie refresh ment table held a bouquet of fall flowers and a white cake trimmed with pink roses and wedding bells. iMrs. H a d 1 e y served coffee and Mrs. V. L. Rentle poured punch. Among the more than 50 guests were the honoree's grandmother. Mrs. Belle Mor gan of Paisley and her sister, Mrs. Dayton Dumont, Klamath Falls. BONANZA GARDEN CLUB BONANZA The Bonanza Gar den Club met Qct. 23 at the home of Elsa Clark. During the business session conducted by the president, Irene Hartley, it was decided to again sponsor the annual outdoor Christmas decorating and lighting contest. On Nov. 12 at 3 p.m. Polly Pacific of Mcdford Pacific Pow er and Light Company will give a talk and show slides on dec orating and lighting. Everyone is urged to attend this meeting. (or (lie regular November meeting. This meeting will begin at the Kingsley Field officers' mess at 2 p.m. with coffee and a short business meeting. There will be a charge of 50 cents for refreshments. At 2:30. Col. Edwin J. Witz enburger will speak to the wom en and explain the tremendous effort it takes to coordinate an Air Force base and keep it run ning smoothly. Following Colonel 'Witzenbur ger's talk, a tour of the base will be conducted. If conditions are favorable it will be possi ble to inspect one of the King sley field jets. The October AAUW meeting at the Klamath Art Gallery was well attended and a great success with creidt going to Lyle Matoush, John' Giboney and the Klamath Art Associa tion. The November meeting prom ises to be equally interesting. It is expected a large number of AAUW members and guests will be present on Nov. 16 to hear Colonel Wilzenburger speak and to lour the Kingsley field. ABBREVIATED ITEM A new length slip has been designed to wear with the ab breviated fall chemises. It's a wonderful item for under long evening dresses, too, when they are slit high above the knee. BPW TEA Business Women's Week was celebrated in Dunsmuir with a tea at the home of Eleanor Harrison hosted by the Business and Professional Women's Club. Marjorie Young, left, was among those who served. Tea guests included Ann Womeck, Red Bluff, second vice president of the Northern District, BPWC, standing left, and Edna Jones, president of the evening BPW Club in Red Bluff, center. Golda Huddle, right, is local membership chairman and was in charge of tea arrangements. OVER THE GARDEN GATE GREENSIMtlNGS CLUB The GreenspriiiRS Garden Club met for a workshop Nov. 7. Mrs. Elmo Anderson read the horticulture study on class es of chrysanthemums, written by Mrs. Alfred Hammond. Roll call was answered by "What I Am Planning f o r it If. Christmas," or by a card given to the garden therapy chair man, Mrs. Guy Moore. Mrs. Hay Billings won the special prize, which was a pine needle basket donated by Mrs. Crystel Cheyne. The new year books were dis tributed by Mrs. Charles San dusky. A new member, Mrs. Charles Mallow, was welcomed to the group. The rest of the day was spent in making pine needle baskets which was taught by Mrs. Crystel Cheyne. The Dec. 5 meeting will lie at the home of Mrs. Norman J. Briggs for a Christmas party and gift exchange.
