methods. The reports would al
so show potential sales under

tions, an industry spokesman,
said.
Freeman's statement was
made at a meeting with mem
bers of Congress from 19 states
and leaders of the National
Lumber Manufacturers Associa
tion i.N'LMA).

Freeman's department, man

Melchiori Jr., Klamath Falls,
will appear Sunday, Nov. 10, on
the Ed Sullivan Show (CBS)
at 8 p.m. on Channel S. The
young cadet will sing with the
U.S. Military Academy Glee
Club, "West Point's Ambassa
dors of Song," under the direc
tion of Col. William H. Schempf.
The glee club is in its 35th
year of public appearances.
They sang recently at the
Army-Air Force games in Chi
cago. Cacet Melchiori, the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Remo Melchiori
Sr., (his city, and honor stu
dent at Klamath Union High
School from where he graduated
four years ago, has continued
his academic record while at
West Point. He will graduate
in June, 19(14.
During the years he was in
KUHS he played with the con
cert band and the KUHS Sym
phony Orchestra.
He was appointed to West
Point by U.S. Sen. Wayne
Morse of Oregon.

70, a resident of Lakeview for
most of his life, died here Sun
day, Nov. 3. He was born in
Lakeview Sept. 1, 1893.

ial in the New Pine Creek
Cemetery.

Andrus
Dies At 94
MACDOEL Mrs. Julian An
drus, 94-year-old Macdoel resi
dent, died Monday evening in
Ihe Siskiyou County General
Hospital in Yreka following a
long illness.
Mrs. Andrus was born in St.
George, Utah, on Dec. 4, 1868,
and lived at Macdoel from 1924
to KB6 when she moved to
Gooding, Idaho, where her hus
band, Sheridan Andrus, died in
1927. In 1946 she returned to
Macdoel to make her home un
til enteiing the hospital.
Survivors include her daugh
ter, Mrs. Howard Myers, Mac
doel; three sons. Henry Andrus,
Macdoel; Roy Andrus, Dorris;
and Chauncey Andrus, M e d
ford; a brother, Henry Schlap
pi, St. George; several great
grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11
a.m. Friday in t h e Macdoel
Community Church, with elders
from the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints officiating.
Interment will be in the Elm
wood Cemetery at Gooding at
10 a.m. Monday. Girdner's Fu
neral Chapel of Yrcka is in
charge of arrangements.

bishops in Rome to help the

The proposal for an episcopal
senate composed of representa

debate by bishops from France,

nesia. In another highlight of today's
debate. Joseph Cardinal Ritter
of St. Louis, who said he was
speaking for "several" U.S.
