Carlton is executive vice pres ident of Television Affiliates Corp., hereinafter called by its more convenient nickname, TAC. The company was set up to care for Carlton's orphans. That's how he thinks about programs which are produced by local television stations one shots, mostly documentary in nature, done on a small local scale without much thought of glory. "I was selling syndicated shows for Trans-Lux," Carlton says. "And. as I traveled. I'd see some of these shows. There was no possible national outlet for them, and many were quite good. They were orphans." Carlton got Trans-Lux to un derwrite the organization of TAC, which is run by television stations around the country for the purpose of providing these one-shots with national outlets. All the other horse opera voc alists have ridden off into the sunset, some of them singing their way to the bank. Greene and his three co-stars on the popular NBC-TV western made an album in which they sang. Tlie album met with some success and Lome de cided to record another group of songs on his own. .
