11 Arraigned Following
Grand Jury Indictments
Eleven persons indicted by
the grand jury were arraigned
in circuit court Tuesday and
five others will appear Friday
morning (or arraignment.
None of the 11 submitted a
plea. Nine of the eleven will
also appear Friday to plead
and the other two will submit
pleas at a later date.
William Edward Unsworth, in
dicted for second degree mur
der, will submit his plea Oct.
30 at 9:30 a.m. to Judge Donald
A. W. Piper. He is accused of
shooting a farm laborer near
Beatty in April, 1962. Uns
worth's original conviction was
set aside by the Supreme Court.
Clifford George Jr., indicted
for assault with a dangerous
weapon and assault with intent
to commit rape, will submit his
plea next Monday at 9:30 a.m.
He is accused of cutting with a
i , knife and striking with a croquet
mallet a woman near Chiloquin
Sept. 27.
Three persons who had been
released on bail prior to being
indicted will appear Friday (or
arraignment. They are Clyde
Bell, charged with burglary not
in a dwelling; William Richard
Best, burglary not in a dwell

son, concealing stolen property.

Neuberger Bill Asks Credit
A bill to secure a seven per
cent tax credit on federal in
come taxes paid was introduced
Tuesday in Congress by Sen.
Maurine Neuberger.
In her introductory speech,
Senator Neuberger called atten
tion to the recent defeat of the
proposed new income tax in
crease law at the polls in Ore
gon, and cautioned that many
states are faced with rising
tax burdens.
She said, "The efforts of state
legislators to retain a progres
