What do you doT Answer Teroorrow Businessmen Begin Restoration Of Old Logging Town Of Tennant WEISFIELD'S TENNANT A group of Califor nia businessmen are stepping backward rather than forward in history with the organization of the Tennant Agency. Inc., high in the Siskiyou Mountains of North ern California. In announcing plans for the res toration of the picturesque old log ging town, Paul R. Lessinger, in corporation president, says it will be returned largely to the color ful atmosphere of its lively days in the early 1900s in the hey-day of lumbering in this part of Cali fornia. The history of Tennant stretch es back to shortly after World War I when the town was built by the Long-Bell Lumber Company. rhe firm constructed the en tire town including homes, a school, community buildings and a store for use by employes. Some years later when the timber hold ings had been exhausted, the town in the forest was abandoned. Just a few years ago, Clarence Bullock, a retired Indiana indus trialist, bought the entire town and spent more than $50,000 re-vacation retreats to be near the pairing and renovating the hous- many hunting and fishing grounds i es and other buildings. Wilcox says this is the second year the school forestry tour will be held, and it has been set up as an annual program for the sixth grade students.
